Pelican™ Case Design Honored With the 2020 NIPHLE Award for Long Term Packaging

Pelican Products, the global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced lighting systems and virtually indestructible cases, announced today that Project Engineer Ted Lynds has won the National Institute of Packaging, Handling & Logistics Engineers (NIPHLE)’s Long-Life Package award.

Built to replace two heavy and cumbersome metal cases, the award-winning custom case acts as a shipping and storage container that protects two separate torque meter models (T56 and T56A) from shock, vibration and global shipping conditions. Custom design features include:

• a polyethylene polymer shell that can withstand impact and the elements, and can be stacked up to five cases high
• integrated stacking ribs
• a foam insert that cradles both sets of equipment for 100% protection from shock and vibration
• passive RFID tags for easy shipping and inventory
• a forklift, hoist, and pallet jack friendly skid base
• watertight seal and manual purge valve for further elemental protection
• desiccant modules to control internal moisture and guard electronics
• a 99% recyclable construction
