Alex Kavanagh is a CASA and FAA certified drone pilot from Sydney, Australia who founded DRONEGEAR in 2013. With the largest social media network of certified drone pilots around the world, Alex started DRONEGEAR Productions, which is a trusted company for aerial cinematography/photography in the USA and abroad. His recent work has been featured in the Baseball World Series/Football Super Bowl half time commercials and Emmy nominated work on National Geographic.

What is your mantra for when things are tough?
Keep creating. Don’t stop.
If you could do anything else, what would it be and why?
Astronaut. Who doesn’t want to go to space!
Describe your best moment ever.
Getting a once in a lifetime drone shot in Patagonia.
How did you get into your profession?
I was a carpenter and builder that picked up a photo camera. Which then lead to wanting to fly that camera remotely.
What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
If I told you I would have to kill you! Just kidding. Get a mentor. Have someone that can help you with business advice. Changed my career path and life forever.
What are your top three Pelican products?
The Pelican Air 1535 is my go to for all my photo/video and expensive lenses. Carry onto plane easy and has retractable arm and wheels for easy transportation. And finally the Pelican 915 SD and MicroSD case. I have two of these and they come with me everywehre. DON'T FORGET THE MEMORY CARDS!
